Firmware Content Management Intern | Tesla

The Tone:
This is an internship at Tesla, located on-site. Tesla develops advanced electric vehicles and energy solutions, supported by sophisticated over-the-air software updates that deliver new features and improvements to customers worldwide. This role is crucial for ensuring that all in-car content and features, especially the public-facing Release Notes, are accurately localized and delivered efficiently to users globally. The work you do will directly impact the customer experience with their vehicle’s software updates and is frequently seen and discussed on social media.

• Mission: Ensure localized in-car content and features, and develop and integrate software Release Notes for global over-the-air updates.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Integrate: Collaborate with developers and feature owners to support accurate and timely Release Notes integration.
• Build: Build web services to streamline content management and deployment processes.
• Automate: Create automation scripts to simplify localization and content workflows.
• Validate: Test and validate content to ensure seamless delivery in software updates.
• Monitor: Develop tools and reporting frameworks to monitor integration health and automation reliability.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field, with an expected graduation date between 2026–2027.
• Experience: Backend development experience with Node.js or Python/Ruby/Bash for content processing; experience with Amazon RDS and at least one of its supported databases; experience working with XML (e.g., parsing and generating) through coursework or personal projects; basic understanding of file handling, data mapping, and API integration.
• Skills: Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS; familiarity with modern web frameworks such as Vue.js, React, or Angular; understanding of internationalization (i18n) libraries like vue-i18n, react-intl, or i18next.
• Bonus: Experience with Qt Linguist .ts or XLIFF .xml formats; familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
