Job Description
This is a full-time, onsite internship opportunity for a highly motivated and analytical student pursuing a degree in accounting or finance. As a Financial Reporting Co-Op, you will gain valuable experience in a fast-paced corporate environment and contribute to the company’s financial reporting process.
Responsibilities
• Assist with quarterly Form 10-Q filings and earnings releases: This involves supporting the team in gathering data, preparing reports, and ensuring accuracy.
• Learn the month-end close process: You will be involved in preparing monthly analyses, journal entries, and gaining a thorough understanding of the process.
• Gain insights into GAAP: This role provides exposure to the practical application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in a real-world business setting.
• Contribute to special projects and process improvements: You will work alongside the Financial Reporting team to identify opportunities for improvement and participate in implementing solutions.
• Develop professional communication skills: This internship fosters effective communication skills through both verbal and written interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Learn about UniFirst’s culture and core values: You will become familiar with the company’s mission, vision, and values.
• Manage time effectively: This role demands organization and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Assist with ad hoc technical accounting research: You will be involved in researching and applying accounting standards to specific situations.
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university degree program pursuing an accounting or finance degree.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfortable working with technology.
• Possess strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Demonstrate a willingness and desire to learn and contribute to continuous improvement.
