• Mission: This person supports the preparation and filing of GAAP and statutory-basis financial statements and related exhibits, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, annual financial reports, MD&A, and related exhibits, including basic variance analysis and key performance indicators.
• Filings: Support the preparation of quarterly and annual statement filings and related external reporting requirements.
• Audits: Contribute to and participate in preparing annual/quarterly financial statement audit requirements.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor financial performance and assist in identifying trends or potential risks.
• Data Analysis: Collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data for reporting purposes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; Entry-Level career with an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and statutory accounting principles (STAT).
• Experience: 0-3 years of relevant experience in financial accounting or a related field.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, effective verbal and written communication, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Bonus: Specialized knowledge of costing, line of business, and governmental accounting.
