Technical Accounting Analyst | Armstrong World Industries

• Team: Reports to the Manager, External Reporting in the Controller’s Department
• Mission: Responsible for preparing the statement of cash flows, managing derivatives and pensions, and assisting with periodic SEC filings to ensure accurate external financial reporting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Cash Flow Management: Prepare the monthly consolidated statement of cash flows.
• Financial Reporting: Assist with the process for the Quarterly and Annual Reports on Form 10-Q/K, including selected footnote preparation.
• Pension & Post-Retirement Accounting: Record necessary accounting entries and develop associated budgets and forecasts for defined benefit pension, post-retirement plan, and post-employment plans.
• Derivative Accounting: Record interest rate derivative accounting entries.
• Asset Impairment Testing: Perform annual goodwill and intangible asset impairment tests.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting. This is an Early-Career role focusing on core accounting principles and external reporting.
• Experience: 1-2 years of accounting or finance experience. Public accounting or financial reporting experience preferred.
• Skills: Proficient knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations combined with the ability to research complex accounting issues; ability to manage effectively through tight deadlines; strong interpersonal skills for comfortable and respectful interaction with all personnel levels; excellent written and oral communication skills.
