Financial Planning Intern | EP Wealth Advisors, LLC

The Tone:
This is an internship at EP Wealth Advisors, LLC, located in San Diego, CA (In-person). This role offers a hands-on journey within the financial planning industry, providing comprehensive mentorship, career development, and practical exposure to various financial topics. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: San Diego, CA (In-person)
• Team: Collaborates with the Financial Planning Manager, Associate Director, and Director, as well as an intern group.
• Mission: To contribute to the development and delivery of sophisticated financial plans for clients, while fostering client financial literacy and supporting intern career growth.
• Tech Stack: Zoom, Salesforce, MyComplianceOffice, Microsoft Teams/Office Suite, eMoney, Monday.com, Egnyte.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Financial Plan Development: Contribute to developing straightforward financial plans for clients with assets under management ranging from $1MM to $2MM.
• Financial Planning Process Management: Manage the EP Financial Planning process by reviewing client data, accurately inputting financial plans, and creating comprehensive assumptions/agenda pages.
• Scenario Generation & Reporting: Assist in generating various financial scenarios, conducting thorough internal reviews, preparing detailed action plans, and uploading documents to the client vault.
• Research Project & Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of financial trends and forecasts, perform ongoing research, and present a substantial research project to the team.
• Client Website Support: Provide support to clients in setting up and maintaining their Personal Financial Websites, including troubleshooting any connection issues.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Near completion of a Bachelor’s degree, with a genuine interest in financial planning and wealth management.
• Experience: Currently enrolled in a BA/BS program; preference will be given to rising juniors and seniors.
• Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong client-service orientation and interpersonal skills, ability to maintain strict confidentiality, high accuracy and meticulous attention to detail, and proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Bonus: Demonstrated interest in pursuing the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, ideally evidenced by relevant coursework.
