Financial Management-Junior | CGI

This position is crucial for providing comprehensive audit review and financial reconciliation support directly to the Marine Corps Payroll Reconciliation Team, helping to maintain the accuracy and integrity of military payroll and complex financial operations for the Marine Corps. Your work will directly contribute to identifying, correcting, and improving financial accounting conditions within critical military pay appropriations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Analysis & Correction: Conduct in-depth accounting and financial auditing to identify, correct, and recommend solutions for abnormal accounting conditions within MILPAY Appropriations (1105 and 1108), including Outstanding Travel Advances, obligation amounts for Personal Property Moves/Household Goods Shipments, and Unliquidated Obligations.
• Process Development & Improvement: Analyze existing processes, then develop, recommend, and advise on technical processes and logistics solutions to resolve problem areas, ultimately ensuring improved customer support and efficiency in financial management.
• Information Management & Data Analysis: Develop and maintain specialized information management tools, processes, and systems to accurately capture, support, and analyze enterprise financial accounting data, enabling the development and continual refinement of Marine Corps enterprise-level business and financial process improvements.
• Audit Support & Reconciliation: Execute data collection, redaction, and scanning of crucial supporting documents, followed by uploading documentation to audit portals and performing detailed reconciliation of obligations and liquidations within multiple Marine Corps systems.
• Stakeholder Coordination & Technical Assistance: Maintain required communications with numerous organizations within the Marine Corps, Department of Navy, and Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS), while also providing technical assistance to various Marine Corps organizational elements on automated financial management applications impacting Military Pay appropriations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as accounting, finance, or business administration, or 3-6 years of direct experience in audit review, financial reconciliation, or related financial management support.
• Experience: Must possess 3-6 years of experience in financial analysis or accounting if a Bachelor’s Degree is not held, coupled with an active Secret clearance to handle sensitive government information.
• Skills: Demonstrated analytical ability for complex financial data, proficiency in reconciling obligations and liquidations, strong data collection and document management skills for audit purposes, and effective communication for inter-organizational coordination.
• Bonus: Basic working knowledge of Marine Corps Total Force Systems (MCTFS) and financial systems such as SMARTS, SABRS, CHOOSE, and DAI.
