The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Disney Entertainment, located in New York, NY. Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product & Technology (DEEP&T) is a dynamic and evolving organization dedicated to shaping the future of how audiences experience entertainment and sports across the globe. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a key role within the Finance team, directly supporting the innovative initiatives that bring streaming innovations, product launches, and platform enhancements to life, ensuring financial clarity and strategic planning for technology initiatives.

• Team: Part of a highly collaborative Finance team supporting DE&E Product & Technology; reports to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis.
• Mission: Manages a subset of the Professional Services budget for DEEP&T, partnering with Technology and Product leaders to prepare financial plans and support financial close processes.
• Tech Stack: SAP, Cognos TM1, Hyperion, Alteryx, Power Query, SQL

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Modeling: Build, maintain, and continuously improve complex financial models specifically designed for the accurate forecasting and in-depth analysis of technology expenses within DEEP&T.
• Financial Planning: Prepare detailed forecasts, including the annual operating plan (AOP) and long-range plan (LRP), as guided by Segment and Corporate FP&A directives. This includes the essential preparation of comprehensive variance analysis and accompanying leadership presentations.
• Financial Close Support: Actively track invoices and manage contractual obligations, reconcile general ledger data, and oversee the accrual and reclass processes throughout the recurring quarterly financial close. This involves close partnership with Accounting to actualize P&Ls.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and deliver a variety of ad-hoc reports, special projects, and insightful presentations for diverse internal stakeholders, encompassing Technology, Product, and Business Operations teams.
• Cross-functional Partnership: Engage in daily collaboration with Technology and Product teams, providing financial insights and ensuring the accuracy and relevance of all financial deliverables.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or a scientific field.
• Experience: 0-2 years of FP&A or other relevant work experience, preferably gained within the technology and/or media sectors.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, excellent proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, strong verbal and written communication skills, and a keen attention to detail with a desire for accuracy.
• Bonus: Related work experience in FP&A or public accounting; demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with individuals outside of Finance and Accounting; proficiency in enterprise financial systems such as SAP, Cognos TM1, or Hyperion; experience with data analytics tools including Alteryx, Power Query, and SQL.
