What You’ll Actually Do
• Budgeting: Prepare operating budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses for logistics and transportation operations.
• Expense Monitoring: Monitor and analyze operating expenses, including fuel, transportation, labor, maintenance, and insurance costs.
• Financial Modeling: Develop financial models using Microsoft Excel to support cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting initiatives.
• Reporting: Prepare periodic financial reports and management dashboards to analyze operational and financial performance.
• Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support pricing decisions, contract evaluation, and business planning processes.
• Performance Improvement: Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, assess variances, and recommend measures to improve cost control and profitability.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Quantitative Finance, or a closely related field.
• Experience: At least 6 months of experience as a Financial Analyst, specifically within the logistics or transportation industry.
• Skills: Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and data analysis; familiarity with logistics cost structures such as transportation, fuel, labor, and operating expenses.
