Financial Analyst Intern (Fall 2026) | Zipline
The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Zipline, located in South San Francisco, CA. Zipline designs, builds, and operates the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, providing drone delivery for essential goods like food and medicine across four continents. This role is critical for understanding and optimizing the financial performance of Zipline’s global operations, guiding strategic and operational decisions. It provides hands-on exposure to how a hardware-enabled, technology-driven business functions.

• Mission: This person will help Zipline understand and optimize the financial performance of its global operations through data analysis and financial modeling.
• Tech Stack: SQL, Snowflake, Excel, Google Sheets, BI platforms, dbt
What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Operations Finance with metric development, reporting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Query and analyze large operational datasets using SQL to extract key insights.
• Build repeatable dashboards and tools in Excel, Google Sheets, and BI platforms to improve performance visibility.
• Partner with operations leaders to understand drivers of cost, efficiency, and performance across global sites.
• Assist in month-end processes, variance analysis, and KPI reviews.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Knowledge of financial statements, accounting fundamentals, and core financial analysis concepts such as unit economics and scenario analysis.
• Experience: None specified, but prior experience in operational finance, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, or analytics is a plus.
• Skills:
• Strong analytical mindset with comfort getting into details and understanding complex operations.
• Experience with SQL, relational databases, and working with large datasets.
• High proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including the ability to build and manage structured financial models.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with diverse cross-functional partners.
• Bonus: Snowflake experience, dbt or modern data stacks experience, interest in hardware-focused or technology-enabled businesses, or a “general athlete” mentality eager to learn quickly.
