Financial Analyst – Cost Optimization | Lowe’s Companies, Inc.

• Mission: To serve as a financial subject matter expert, collaborating cross-functionally to transform complex business plans into financial forecasts, budgets, and long-range plans, and to provide proactive analysis, insights, and recommendations that optimize business performance for core company focus areas.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain financial planning tools: Support Senior and Lead Analysts by maintaining templates, systems, and other tools needed to develop quarterly forecast updates, annual plans, and long-range plans.
• Prepare and update scorecards: Complete updates of operating, program, and business unit scorecards and support Senior and Lead Analysts in updating commentary and analysis for these updates.
• Gather data for analysis: Compile data needed to perform root cause analysis, test & learn initiatives, and financial modeling, supporting Senior and Lead Analysts in conducting the analysis.
• Apply financial expertise: Complete work assignments by applying up-to-date expertise in the subject area, leveraging an understanding of policies, data, and resources to support projects, and collaborating cross-functionally to solve business problems.
• Pursue self-development: Foster professional growth and effective relationships by openly sharing information and knowledge with coworkers and business partners, seeking performance feedback, and adapting to and learning from change.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of an education requirement. This role is suited for early career professionals seeking to apply and grow their financial analytical skills.
• Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in a finance or analytical role within a public company or accounting firm, with demonstrated experience providing analytical support.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel capabilities. Fundamental knowledge of financial and business analytics principles is required for effective collaboration and problem-solving.
• Bonus: Three or more years of experience in a finance or analytical role within a public company or accounting firm, particularly in FP&A, Corporate Finance, or Corporate Accounting. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Superset, Microstrategy, or Qlik, and experience with analytical tools like Python, R, SAS, Adobe, Alteryx, or Knime.
