Finance Associate – OCU – Non-Technical – 1st Shift | Cummins Inc.

The Tone:

This position is crucial for delivering essential financial analyses and reports for management. The role ensures the integrity of financial data and supports informed decision-making through meticulous budget and forecasting processes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Perform basic and complex financial analyses, prepare detailed reports for management, and review them for areas of emphasis and follow-up.
• Budget & Forecasting: Develop and analyze financial data to support annual budget and forecasting processes, loading actual and forecast data into the financial system.
• Expense & Spending Awareness: Explain expense variances, heighten spending awareness within the organization, and educate customers on accounting processes.
• Financial Process Coordination: Support daily financial processes such as purchase requisitions, invoice reconciliation, supplier payments, and requests for checks.
• Accounting & Transaction Support: Prepare and post journal entries, coordinate customer inquiries, perform account reconciliations, and resolve problems arising in daily financial processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Experience: Three years of relevant experience, OR an associate’s degree and at least one year of relevant experience, OR a bachelor’s degree. Specific experience in transaction processing and accounting support (including AGIS transactions), accounts payable support (invoice discrepancy resolution), accounts receivable support (tracking and follow-up), GRNI monitoring (analyzing and highlighting transactions), and claims & adjustments execution (analyzing financial impact and processing related notes/payments).
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in Excel; ability to interpret financial data by analyzing trends, variances, opportunities, and risks to provide insight to stakeholders; capability to analyze financial data, evaluate results, and prepare financial information for reporting.
