Financial Analyst | Gromelski & Associates, Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Gromelski & Associates, Inc. (GAI), located in Manassas, VA. GAI partners with prime contractors to deliver a broad spectrum of professional services, including Engineering Design, Software Development, System Integration, Integrated Logistics Support, and Technical System Support. This Financial Analyst position is critical for supporting our technical teams by ensuring precise cost management and delivering accurate, complete, and responsive financial reporting, directly contributing to the successful execution of client projects.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Perform various weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reporting, along with creating Ad Hoc reports as needed.
• Analysis: Interpret financial data to determine impacts on the overall program and identify patterns or gaps requiring further investigation.
• Debugging: Debug financial calculations using common sense and recalculation to ensure accuracy.
• Improvement: Understand calculations and tasks conceptually to propose process improvements and new financial processes.
• Compliance: Support financial compliance, including preparing for DCMA surveillances and conducting variance analysis to ensure proper funding allocation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a similar field of discipline is required. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens and possess the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks and balance multiple projects effectively within defined cost and time constraints. Experience using Microsoft Office tools is essential.
• Skills: Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to debug financial calculations through common sense and recalculation. Requires a moderate understanding of financial concepts, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. This role also demands the ability to interpret financial data to determine program impacts and recognize patterns.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) calculations and experience with baseline calculations and analyses for time and material government contracts are highly desired. Experience in government contracting, including risk management and financial compliance with DCAA regulations, is a significant plus. The ability to quickly and accurately learn new calculations based on prior examples and instruction is also beneficial.
