Financial Analyst | Microwave Power Products (MPP)

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Microwave Power Products (MPP), located in Palo Alto, CA. MPP is a business unit operating within TransDigm Group Incorporated, a global leader in designing and producing highly engineered aircraft components for commercial and military aviation. This Financial Analyst role is critical in driving financial performance and operational efficiency within MPP’s manufacturing environment, serving as a key partner to business unit leadership. The position offers broad exposure to various aspects of manufacturing finance, accounting, and controllership, aimed at developing future finance leaders.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Partner: Provide financial analysis, identify risks and opportunities, and support operational decision-making for assigned business units.
• Standardize: Develop, document, and standardize financial processes, reports, and analytical tools to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Model: Build and maintain complex financial models to support forecasts, pricing, profitability analysis, and capital investments.
• Analyze: Investigate monthly financial results and variances, preparing actionable recommendations for business and finance leadership.
• Own: Gradually assume responsibility for accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience: 2–5 years in financial analysis, accounting, FP&A, or manufacturing finance, with experience using ERP systems and large datasets.
• Skills: Strong analytical and financial modeling skills using Microsoft Excel, excellent communication skills for explaining financial concepts, and a self-motivated, continuous improvement mindset.
• Bonus: Experience in manufacturing or industrial finance, knowledge of standard costing and variance analysis, and familiarity with Power BI, SQL, or other business intelligence tools.
