USA Water Polo, Inc. is the esteemed national governing body for water polo in the United States. Our mission extends to managing the U.S. Olympic program and organizing over 20 annual championship events, including the prestigious Junior Olympics and Masters Championships. Representing a vibrant community of more than 50,000 members and sanctioning over 400 tournaments nationwide, USAWP is deeply committed to fostering the growth of water polo at a grassroots level. We achieve this by actively supporting affiliated clubs, certified coaches, and officials, thereby driving the sport’s development across the country. Our ultimate goal is to expand water polo’s presence within the United States and achieve gold medals in elite international competitions such as the Olympics and World Championships.

Role Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Administrator specializing in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Bookkeeping. This is a full-time remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while being an integral part of our finance team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing all Accounts Payable (AP) processes, including vendor invoice processing, payment scheduling, and expense tracking.
  • Handling Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, including invoicing, collections, and cash application.
  • Performing comprehensive bookkeeping duties to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Reconciling various financial accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Preparing timely and insightful financial reports for management review.
  • Ensuring strict compliance with all internal financial policies and procedures.
  • Assisting in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
  • Analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborating effectively with internal team members across different departments to support overall financial efficiency and organizational goals.

Qualifications

We are looking for a highly organized and skilled individual with a strong foundation in finance and accounting. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge in Finance and Accounting principles, with a solid understanding of financial best practices.
  • Demonstrable experience in Financial Planning and possessing strong Analytical Skills to interpret complex financial data and generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and clearly present financial information to various stakeholders.
  • Exceptional Attention to detail, a high level of integrity, and the proven ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools; advanced knowledge of Excel is a significant plus.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field is required.
  • Experience working in nonprofit organizations or sports management is a plus, demonstrating an understanding of the unique financial landscape of such entities.
