Finance Accounting Intern | Optimized Business Management

The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Optimized Business Management, located in San Antonio, Texas. OBM provides essential services like accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and operational consulting to businesses and nonprofit organizations. This role offers an intern the opportunity to gain practical experience while supporting the daily functions of a growing company dedicated to helping entrepreneurs and community groups succeed. Interns will work directly alongside leadership to understand how businesses and nonprofit organizations operate behind the scenes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Support: Record financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and organize financial documents using accounting software.
• Tax & Compliance: Prepare documentation for tax filings, track client deadlines, and monitor regulatory requirements.
• Operational Support: Assist with payroll processing tasks and generate basic financial reports for internal and client use.
• Client & Administrative Support: Manage calendars, organize emails, follow up with clients, and assist with document and file management.
• Business Development: Support social media content, marketing initiatives, and community engagement efforts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Studying Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Management, Communications, Marketing, Organizational Leadership, Office Administration, or Nonprofit Management.
• Experience: Basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Skills: Strong communication, professionalism, organization, attention to detail, ability to multitask.
• Bonus: Accounting software experience, willingness to learn and take initiative.
