• Mission: Ensure accurate and timely payments for companies, manage invoicing, track payments, and maintain robust financial records.
• Tech Stack: Sheets, Excel, QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage (or similar accounting system)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Receivable Management: Prepare and send customer invoices, accurately apply cash receipts and credits, and monitor AR aging with professional outreach for past-due balances.
• Accounts Payable Processing: Review, code, and process vendor bills and employee reimbursements, schedule and track payments, and maintain clean vendor and customer records.
• Financial Reconciliations: Reconcile bank, credit card, accounts receivable, and accounts payable accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy.
• Discrepancy Resolution & Support: Research and resolve billing or payment discrepancies by collaborating with internal teams and external clients or vendors.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Support month-end close tasks, assist with year-end preparations, help track department budgets, note basic variances, and assist with forecast updates.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early-career finance professional with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent experience, including relevant internships or coursework.
• Experience: Familiarity with basic accounting concepts such as debits, credits, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reconciliations. Comfortable using Excel or Google Sheets for tasks like lookups, pivots, and basic formulas.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to follow-through, ensuring deadlines are met. Clear, friendly communication skills to build trust with teammates, vendors, and clients. Ability to spot issues, ask pertinent questions, suggest practical fixes, manage multiple tasks, maintain tidy documentation, and protect confidential information.
• Bonus: Experience with an accounting system such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar platforms is a plus.
