Finance Manager, Amazon Rapid Logistics | Amazon
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Amazon, located in various US cities including Nashville, TN; Dallas, TX; Arlington, VA; and Bellevue, WA. Amazon is an organization that is designing and launching new businesses, specifically within its Rapid Logistics team, which covers a portfolio of high-growth businesses like Sub Same Day (SSD). This role as a Finance Manager is critical for fusing customer experience, operational knowledge, and financial understanding to create a holistic picture, directly influencing the strategic direction, driving operational excellence, and making sound investment and expansion decisions to continuously improve the customer experience and drive long-term profitability.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Investment Analysis: Build complex financial models and perform sophisticated analyses to drive investment decisions for new business initiatives, such as perishable grocery expansion, introduction of pharmacy and dangerous goods, and overall network growth within the SSD network.
• Capital Planning: Lead capital planning and optimization efforts for the growing SSD network, encompassing the development of launch strategies, comprehensive capex forecasting, efficient allocation of resources, and in-depth ROI analysis.
• Strategic Partnership: Partner closely with business teams across multiple organizations to define financial and non-financial trade-offs, making thoughtful judgment calls in ambiguous and rapidly-evolving environments.
• Operational Model Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and design new operational models for programs, supporting strategic initiatives and demonstrating an ability to influence business owners.
• Financial Solutions & Process Improvement: Develop and implement scalable financial solutions aimed at improving existing tools, technology, and processes, while identifying and solving complex data integrity issues to maintain high standards.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science).
• Experience: 5+ years of finance experience, or a Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience.
• Skills: Financial modeling, sophisticated analysis, capital planning and optimization, process improvement, clear communication, data integrity.
• Bonus: MBA or CPA; 6+ years of experience identifying and solving complex data integrity issues; 6+ years of experience delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations with proven business impact; Knowledge of SQL/ETL; Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards); Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
