What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Analysis: Collect and analyze quantitative data to generate meaningful reports for business improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
• Problem Solving: Conduct root cause analysis to uncover core issues using data and provide actionable insights to business partners.
• Strategy Development: Recommend, develop, and implement policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and profitability.
• Financial Management: Oversee the continuous development and communication of weekly and monthly financial close, planning, forecasting, and reporting models to Operations partners.
• Data Integrity: Collaborate with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, automated, and timely.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, or business, or a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in a quantitative role.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field; 5+ years in multiple finance and accounting roles; 6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience; 6+ years applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses; 6+ years building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making; 6+ years creating process improvements with automation and analysis; 6+ years participating in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.
• Skills: Expertise in collecting, analyzing, and managing quantitative data; creating meaningful reports; performing root cause analysis; providing actionable insights; advanced Excel skills including macros, index, conditional lists, arrays, pivots, and lookups.
• Bonus: MBA or CPA; knowledge of SQL/ETL; experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos); experience with financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards); experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and interpreting results.
