What You’ll Actually Do
• Business Support: Provide key financial support and in-depth analysis to business organizations to help drive and improve their overall performance and strategic initiatives.
• Financial Modeling: Develop sophisticated financial valuation models and perform comprehensive business analytics to inform strategic decisions and business cases, including investment opportunities, potential mergers and acquisitions, capital structure, and pricing strategies.
• Planning & Forecasting: Prepare detailed long-range plans, annual budgets, and strategic assessments, conduct investment analysis forecasts, and meticulously review actual operational results against projections.
• Operational Optimization: Proactively research and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost savings within specific functional areas, subsequently presenting these findings to managers and actively assisting in their implementation.
• Policy Guidance: Educate staff across various functional areas regarding Amgen’s financial policies and procedures, offering assistance and interpretation to ensure proper application and compliance.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Mathematics, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience: 2 years of experience in a finance-related occupation.
• Skills: Proficiency in presenting complex financial analysis and actionable recommendations to senior management and stakeholders; expertise in valuation methodologies including discounted cash flow modeling, valuation multiples, and assessing incremental profit and loss impact; advanced financial modeling to support executive decision-making, particularly for mergers and acquisitions and asset partnering, leveraging Excel tools such as VBA macros, pivot tables, and data visualization; comprehensive experience in managing the external reporting process, including consolidating, reviewing, and coordinating quarterly and annual financial statements for accuracy, GAAP/IFRS compliance, and timely filings; and strong capabilities in financial planning and analytics, encompassing forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, time series modeling, peer benchmarking, and trend analysis, alongside managing banking relationships, daily liquidity, and supporting capital allocation decisions.
