Job Description: Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP) and Finance Internship
Thermo Fisher Scientific offers two finance-focused programs: a Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP) and a Finance Internship.
FLDP: This is a two-year accelerated program designed to develop the skills necessary for a career as a finance leader within the company. The program is managed by a dedicated Program Manager, overseen by the CFO and the company’s Finance Leadership Team. Participants will rotate through multiple assignments over the two years, gaining exposure to various aspects of finance, core processes, technologies, and key leaders. They will gain proficiency across diverse functional areas, business units, products/services, and regions. The program includes formal development sessions, executive mentorship, training in Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodology, and networking opportunities with FLDP alumni.
Finance Internship: This 10-12 week internship is designed for business students and serves as a pipeline for the FLDP. Interns are assigned projects based on their skills and the company’s needs. These projects are strategically and/or operationally important to the business unit and are developed by the Senior Leadership Team. The internship offers experience in functional areas such as Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Cost Accounting (Manufacturing), Commercial Finance, Strategic Pricing, General Accounting, Division Finance, Corporate Development Finance, and Data and Analytics.
