Part-Time Accounting Intern (January 2027 – April 2027) | Arch Mortgage Insurance Company (Arch MI)

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-time (15-20 hours/week, over 3+ business days)
• Location: Hybrid Greensboro–Winston-Salem–High Point Area
• Pay: $24 hourly
• Mission: Assist the Finance department with month-end close processes, financial statement preparation, tax and compliance support, and process improvement initiatives to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Month-End Support: Assist in the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, updating monthly reporting files, and performing account reconciliations.
• Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of GAAP and Statutory financial statements in accordance with internal and external reporting timelines.
• Tax & Compliance: Contribute to the creation of annual statement pages (Yellowbooks) for Mortgage Insurance (MI) companies and prepare premium tax returns for selected states under guidance.
• Process Improvement: Participate in a long-term project focused on process improvement or automation within the Finance department.
• Internship Summary: Deliver a final presentation summarizing your internship experience and project outcomes to the department.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Actively completing an area of study in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant program; current Junior or Senior college student; minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Experience: Graduation dates ranging from May 2027 – December 2027.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
