Job Description: FINANCE INTERNSHIP
Position Purpose: This internship provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced finance professionals within Veolia North America’s Finance organization. Interns will gain exposure to both technical and commercial aspects of the Environmental Solutions & Services (ESS) business, supporting the Finance team’s planning and analysis needs. The intern will actively participate in achieving the team’s project goals and objectives.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Regional/Branch Finance professionals, assisting in the completion of budget templates and budget tool inputs; answering questions and providing guidance to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
• Support operations teams during monthly closing activities, assisting in the development and maintenance of financial analysis packages aligned with regional, legal entity, and business line reporting requirements.
• Work with the Finance team to optimize and maintain the financial landing file and profitability analysis by Region and Business Line – key working analyses during each monthly closing.
• Participate in various projects related to Support Functions’ (departmental) process improvements, or special projects across various areas to support business initiatives and meet objectives.
• Communicate issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility.
• Prepare and deliver insights and recommendations based on analyses; produce findings, draw conclusions, and make oral and written recommendations to management.
• Gain exposure to fundamental business processes and procedures. While focused on the ESS business unit, support may extend to other Veolia North America business functions.
Work Environment: Internship environments vary, ranging from office settings to field and plant locations. The goal is to provide practical, real-world industry experience. There is no guarantee of a job offer upon internship completion.
Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a four-year degree with senior status in Finance or Accounting.
• Minimum 3.2 Cumulative GPA required.
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal, listening, presentation, and facilitation).
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships.
