Job Description: Cisco’s Leaders in Finance and Technology (LIFT) Program – Internship

This posting advertises potential future opportunities within Cisco’s 10-week summer internship program for Financial Analysts, based in Raleigh, North Carolina. The program is part of the larger LIFT program, which also includes a 2-year full-time rotational program. Applications are accepted continuously until further notice; however, there may not be an immediate opening. Applicants will be contacted if a suitable role becomes available.

Who You’ll Work With:

Interns will join Cisco’s global finance organization, working alongside business partners across various Cisco departments (sales, engineering, etc.). Collaboration will extend to fellow interns, team members, managers, and senior leaders.

What You’ll Do:

The internship offers these experiences:

Fiscal Year Close Support: Work within Cisco Finance during the fiscal year-end closing process.
Substantive Finance Role: Contribute directly to a finance team’s success. Specific tasks vary depending on team placement (e.g., Financial Planning & Analysis, Managing Operating Expenses, Commercial Finance, Accounting).
Team Project: Participate in an intern team project addressing a real Cisco business challenge, culminating in a presentation to the U.S. finance community and relevant stakeholders.
Networking: Collaborate with finance leaders, cross-functional teams, and other early-career professionals.
Data Analysis: Transform data into actionable insights to solve business problems.
Skill Development: Develop business acumen and skills necessary for future finance leadership.
Professional Development Events: Attend events to expand professional networks and career development.

Who You Are (Qualifications):

Eligibility: Enrolled in a 4-year university as a rising senior who has completed six semesters of undergraduate studies. Alternatively, recent graduates entering a 1-year master’s program in accounting or finance with no gap between undergraduate and graduate studies are eligible.
Required Skills/Attributes: Passion for finance, leadership, and technology; open-mindedness; proactive communication; ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
Degree: Bachelor’s degree (or soon-to-be) in accounting, finance, economics, or a related business field.
Availability: Must be available to start the internship program as part of a cohort from June 2 – August 8, 2025.
Legal Status: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in finance principles and Excel.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and collaborative spirit.
• Involvement in college leadership roles, extracurricular activities, sports, or study abroad experiences.
• Ability to balance a full-time job with school.
