Job Description: Finance Internship
This 10-week internship program offers a deep immersion into the world of corporate finance at CSX. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals, tackling real-world projects and gaining valuable hands-on experience. The program is designed to provide a clear picture of what a career in corporate finance might look like, while also giving CSX the opportunity to identify potential future leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Project Work: Interns will play a crucial role in completing specific finance projects. These projects provide a snapshot of the daily tasks of a finance professional, including:
• Business Partner Collaboration: Building relationships with internal departments to analyze marketing, operations, and capital projects. Interns will help assess economic tradeoffs to support informed decision-making.
• Analytical Support: Providing data-driven insights for operational reviews, resource allocation, and financial valuations.
• Financial Forecasting: Contributing to the development of short- and long-term forecasts, plans, and strategies.
• Modeling and Analysis: Creating and utilizing financial models to quantify benefits and drive sound economic decisions.
• Communication and Presentation: Presenting analytical findings to senior management and business partners from other departments.
Qualifications:
• Minimum Requirements:
• At least 18 years of age
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Anticipated graduation within a year of the internship’s end
• Minimum GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
• Knowledge and Skills:
• Strong academic performance with a demonstrated interest in finance and quantitative analysis.
• Proven leadership skills and initiative.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
• Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to senior audiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Job Requirements:
• The internship is office-based.
• Interns will interact with senior leadership and executives.
• Work is completed within established deadlines.
• Successful candidates must pass a background check and drug test.
