Financial Analyst Intern | Target
The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Target, located in Minneapolis, MN, starting Summer 2027. Target operates a large retail organization across various channels, serving guests with a wide range of products and services. This internship plays a crucial role in cultivating the next generation of financial leaders within the company, providing a foundational experience in financial analysis and strategic planning. The program is designed to develop strong financial acumen and foster career growth.

• Team: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams, within the Financial Analyst Development Program (FADP)
• Mission: Gain a realistic job preview into Finance at Target by applying financial knowledge to project-based work and developing core analysis skills.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft applications (intermediate Excel)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Gain insights: Develop a realistic understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities of a Financial Analyst at Target.
• Apply knowledge: Contribute to project-based work focusing on areas such as technology, property investments, budgeting, sales forecasting, or financial modeling/reporting.
• Manage projects: Oversee a project from its initial planning stages through to its completion within your designated business area.
• Present findings: Deliver project results and strategic recommendations to leadership within your specific business unit.
• Engage in development: Participate in extensive training, robust development activities, job shadows, mentorship, and senior leader/alumni panels.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Experience: Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including intermediate proficiency in Excel.
• Skills: Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, communication, and decision-making skills; excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; strong planning and organizational capabilities; a curious, adaptable, and growth-oriented mindset.
