Intern, Finance | Motorola Solutions

The Tone:
This is a full-time, fully onsite internship at Motorola Solutions’ subsidiary Silvus Technologies, located in vibrant West LA, California. Motorola Solutions is a global organization focused on building and connecting technologies to help keep people safer everywhere, fostering collaboration for communities, schools, hospitals, and businesses. As a subsidiary, Silvus Technologies delivers advanced MANET and MIMO communications systems crucial for mission-critical applications across defense, law enforcement, and public safety. This role helps “Keep Our Heroes Connected” by supporting the finance team in providing critical financial data, reporting, and presentations that enable informed business decision-making.

• Team: Reports to the FP&A Director on the FP&A team.
• Mission: Support the Finance team by providing accurate financial data, clear reporting, and effective presentations to aid business decision-making.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare and update financial presentations: Regularly refresh recurring financial slide decks, charts, and tables for senior leadership by accurately inputting financial metrics and analytical insights.
• Gather and organize financial data: Collect, organize, and prepare financial data from various sources to support cross-functional initiatives and reporting assistance for the FP&A team.
• Assist with financial reporting: Help prepare summaries of financial information and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to convert raw data into clear takeaways for review by senior team members.
• Ensure data accuracy and presentation quality: Validate financial data for integrity and help ensure all presentation materials maintain high standards of visual clarity, formatting consistency, and accuracy.
• Support ad hoc finance projects: Provide administrative and analytical support on special projects as requested by finance leadership to broaden exposure across different areas of finance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: In-progress Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or other related fields.
• Experience: Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint with an eye for formatting. Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts, and employment is contingent upon successful clearance of a background check and drug testing.
• Skills: Strong analytical mindset, high degree of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and effective verbal and written communication skills with an ability to collaborate across teams.
• Bonus: Prior experience creating or editing business/financial presentations for group or academic projects, coursework or exposure to basic corporate finance concepts and financial statements, or previous internship/leadership experience in a professional or academic setting.
