Finance Intern – Supply Chain | Colgate-Palmolive

The Tone:
This is an internship at Colgate-Palmolive, located in Morristown, TN. Colgate-Palmolive is a global consumer products company operating in over 200 countries, specializing in Oral Care, Personal Care, Home Care, Skin Care, and Pet Nutrition, with products trusted in many households worldwide. This role matters as it contributes to key financial responsibilities for the Tennessee site, supporting global supply chain excellence, cost analysis, budget optimization, and the overall financial health of supply operations. You will work on real-world projects alongside industry experts.

• Mission: Contribute to the financial health of supply operations through involvement in meaningful projects, cost analysis, and budget optimization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable Management: Manage the GR/IR process, including regular reviews, clearing proposals, and comprehensive purchase order monitoring and action.
• Month-End Financial Support: Assist with core accounting activities such as reconciliations, accruals, reclasses, and CapEx tracking, contributing to monthly financial reviews and senior leadership presentations.
• Cost Analysis and Strategic Support: Manage critical, real-time costing requests to inform strategic decisions, gaining practical cost analysis experience.
• Budget and Financial Planning: Manage and update essential budget, MLE, and SLE files utilizing financial planning tools, developing practical skills in financial reporting and analysis.
• Plant Financial Operations: Monitor key plant performance indicators like Asset Material Loss, participate in SLOB inventory reviews, reconcile weekly confirmation variances, and assist with year-end financial requests and tactical audits.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program, with a third-year Finance or Accounting major preferred.
• Experience: Authorization to work in the United States without future sponsorship needs.
• Skills: Basic knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, and computer systems.
• Bonus: Some prior, relevant work experience in a business setting.
