Finance Intern | Eaton

The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Eaton, located in El Paso, TX. Eaton operates within a manufacturing environment. This role is crucial for providing practical, hands-on experience in key financial functions, allowing the intern to apply academic knowledge in a professional setting. The Finance Intern will support real-world financial processes related to field accounting, operations, and budget management.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support budget processes: Aid in the review and analysis of budgets to ensure financial targets are met.
• Assist with reporting: Contribute to monthly “flash” reporting by reviewing data and analyzing variances in financial performance.
• Monitor financial performance: Track and monitor operational expenses and financial performance to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Perform field accounting: Collect and reconcile data for various field accounting activities.
• Prepare financial documents: Help prepare financial reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Finance or Accounting with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
• Experience: Ability to commit to a 6-month internship duration and work at least 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the El Paso, TX site.
• Skills: Strong analytical and organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic financial concepts, and excellent attention to detail.
• Bonus: Prior internship, co-op, or campus leadership experience in finance, accounting, supply chain, or operations; experience with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., PivotTables, charts, basic Power Query); familiarity with ERP or finance systems (e.g., SAP) and/or accounts payable, budgeting, or inventory finance concepts.
