Keystone Cooperative is a leading agricultural cooperative that provides a wide range of services to farmers and the agricultural industry. They are actively seeking to build a talent pool of potential employees for their growing business, focusing on the fields of accounting, finance, and general management within the agronomy, general agriculture, precision agriculture, and sales industries.

Internship Program Details

This internship program runs from May to August and is tailored to the individual interests and experience level of the intern. The program emphasizes hands-on, real-world experience that will provide valuable learning opportunities while allowing interns to earn money. The program aims to provide a valuable learning experience for students interested in accounting, finance, or general management within the agricultural sector.

Internship Responsibilities

Interns will work closely with the corporate credit and finance department to:

Assist in various functions: This may include tasks related to financial reporting, analysis, and operations.
Develop an understanding of key financial concepts: Including balance sheets, income statements, cash flows, and accrual accounting.
Engage in account management: This includes managing accounts receivable aging and write-offs.
Participate in meetings with staff: Gaining exposure to internal discussions and decision-making processes.
Gain insight into the finance and credit needs of a large cooperative: Understanding the processes and procedures required to support these needs.
Experience financial collaboration with sales staff and grower customers: Understanding the financial dynamics of the agricultural industry.
Develop experience in input financing underwriting process: This involves analyzing financial data and making recommendations on credit applications.

Skills and Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Ag Econ, or other relevant field.
Overall GPA of 3.0 or better.
Strong proficiency in Excel and other financial platforms. This includes experience with Fintech, digital platforms, and digital wallets.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaborative skills.
