Internship- Finance & Accounting Summer 2027 | HNI Corporation

The Tone:
This is a summer internship at HNI Corporation, located in Muscatine, IA (potential for company-paid housing). HNI is a global family of brands for the workplace and home, building workplace furnishings and residential building products. This role offers first-hand experience in finance and accounting, working on projects that create value for business partners and providing professional development and exposure to leadership.

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Accounting: Assist with general and consolidation accounting tasks.
• Financial Planning: Support financial planning, budgeting, and analysis activities.
• Cost Accounting: Contribute to plant and cost accounting operations.
• Risk Management: Participate in internal audit, internal controls, and risk management processes.
• Credit Analysis: Conduct credit analysis as part of financial services functions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates should be working towards a BA or MBA with a major in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, specifically with an emphasis in Accounting/Finance. Those working towards a Business Analytics degree may also apply. Junior-level coursework is preferred.
• Experience: A minimum GPA of 2.8 is required. Preference will be given to applicants with relevant work experience, internships, or involvement in related activities such as tutoring or business fraternities.
• Skills: Possesses strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel; excellent verbal and written communication abilities; effective collaborator with team members; proactive and driven, exhibiting a strong sense of initiative and leadership among peers.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Power BI, data analytics tools, or AI-assisted technologies is a plus. Candidates pursuing a double major in Accounting and Finance are strongly encouraged to apply.
