Accounting Intern | Southeast Toyota Finance

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Southeast Toyota Finance, located in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale Area. This program is designed to provide college students with meaningful work experiences that directly relate to their academic programs. Interns will actively contribute to their team’s success, learning about JM Family’s companies and culture while acquiring new skills. The role offers hands-on experience in the Finance and Accounting field, contributing to various department initiatives.

• Mission: To provide hands-on support in finance and accounting, contributing to departmental initiatives and gaining insights into specific projects.
• Tech Stack: Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python, ABS (system)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist: Assist the Treasury team with Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) offerings, including reviewing offering and legal documents and participating in due diligence procedures.
• Maintain: Maintain specialized accounting and servicing support for ABS transactions, including identifying research items, monitoring pool performance, preparing monthly reports, and participating in annual servicing audits.
• Prepare: Prepare wire requests and reconciliations for daily and monthly collections related to public and private ABS transactions and conduit lines.
• Participate: Participate in annual due diligence procedures for conduit lines and the annual financial audit, performed by external accountants.
• Analyze: Analyze various general ledger accounts and supporting schedules, reconciling them as necessary.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Finance or Accounting, from an accredited college or university. Must have completed at least one semester of coursework.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required beyond academic coursework and a desire for meaningful work experiences tied to a program of study.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, analytical skills, the ability to work effectively within a team, strong Excel skills, Power BI, SQL, and Python.
