The Tone:
This is a summer internship at Align Technology, located in San Jose, CA. Align Technology operates within the Finance department, where this role contributes to improving financial operations through data-driven insights and AI solutions. This position is crucial for enhancing the company’s financial planning, reporting, and automation capabilities by leveraging advanced analytics and artificial intelligence. The intern will directly support key financial processes and decision-making.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Analysis: Assist in data analysis, forecasting, and reporting to support annual planning and monthly reviews.
• Dashboard and Model Building: Build and optimize dashboards and predictive models to aid business and growth tracking.
• AI Tool Implementation: Explore and implement AI-driven tools, such as Copilot and machine learning models, to improve financial workflows.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and IT teams to integrate automation into planning processes.
• Efficiency Improvement: Document processes and provide recommendations for efficiency improvements across financial operations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Experience: Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and data visualization tools; basic knowledge of Python/R and SQL; and familiarity with AI/ML concepts with an interest in Copilot or similar AI assistants.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; clear communication for presenting insights; effective collaboration skills for cross-functional teams; and the ability to work both independently and in teams.
• Bonus: Experience with business and financial modeling and forecasting techniques; exposure to cloud-based analytics platforms and automation tools; strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
