Finance Analyst, Asset & Wealth Management | Goldman Sachs

What You’ll Actually Do
• Month-end Close Ownership: Lead and own key components of the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
• Financial Statement Review: Review and analyze financial statements, identifying trends, variances, and actionable insights to support business performance evaluation.
• Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring proper controls, accuracy, and compliance.
• Reporting & Analysis Support: Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, and support budgeting, forecasting, and detailed variance analysis.
• Process & System Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in accounting systems, processes, and internal controls, while also providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, demonstrating strong foundational knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including direct ownership of month-end close processes and financial statement preparation.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, pivot tables, and lookups; expertise with various accounting systems; strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities; excellent communication skills for cross-departmental interaction; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Bonus: CPA certification or active progress toward achieving CPA licensure is strongly preferred.
