Federal Protective Service Officer (PSO) | BTI Security

The Tone:
This is a full-time role with BTI Security, a company dedicated to securing federal properties. As a Federal Protective Service Officer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding federal buildings, government employees, and visitors. This position demands exceptional vigilance, strong communication, and decisive action to maintain a secure environment and respond effectively to potential threats and emergencies.

• Mission: Ensure the safety and security of federal buildings, employees, and visitors by actively protecting principals and responding to emergencies.
• Tech Stack: Magnetometer, X-ray machines, two-way radios, surveillance cameras

What You’ll Actually Do
• Safeguard principals against possible threats and unlawful activities.
• Control access to federal buildings by performing employee and visitor identification checks.
• Monitor security equipment, surveillance cameras, and conduct roving patrols of federal property interiors and exteriors.
• Respond to emergencies, administer CPR or first aid when needed, and evaluate situations using excellent listening and service skills.
• Provide detailed written reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be at least 21 years of age, a United States citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident who is a current member or honorably discharged from the US Armed Forces, and possess a Social Security Card. A High School Diploma/GED is required, along with the ability to obtain suitability and/or clearance, and strong relevant knowledge of the security industry.
• Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of armed security experience OR one (1) year of full-duty law enforcement experience within the US OR two (2) years as a member of any US Armed Forces with an honorable discharge.
• Skills: Fluency in speaking, reading, comprehending, and composing written reports in English. Ability to qualify with a revolver or semi-automatic, demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, and possess a customer service-driven mindset. Proficiently use magnetometer and X-ray machines, and effectively operate two-way radios.
