The Tone:
This is a full-time role at AgCountry Farm Credit Services, located in Fargo, ND, with required travel. AgCountry, along with FCSAmerica and Frontier Farm Credit, are financial cooperatives that provide affordable credit, crop insurance, and financial services to farmers, ranchers, and agribusinesses across eight states. This role is crucial for delivering timely and accurate accounting services to various farm entities, directly supporting the success of customers and upholding the associations’ mission to serve rural America.

• Mission: To provide timely and technically accurate accounting and financial consulting services for a portfolio of diverse farm entities, ensuring customer retention and satisfaction.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide: Deliver timely and accurate accounting services for farming operations and owners of farmland, including depreciation, payroll, bill pay, and cash and accrual statements.
• Service: Act as the primary contact for customers, completing requests quickly and effectively to build relationships and exceed service expectations.
• Educate: Share expertise by educating farm accounting customers and teammates on the importance of timely and accurate reporting, delivering internal presentations and answering questions.
• Represent: Promote the associations’ accounting expertise by actively participating in presentations at industry events and customer meetings, while also identifying opportunities for cross-selling and referrals.
• Manage: Maintain a portfolio of customers, staying current on accounting rules, managing time to meet deadlines, and invoicing customers according to established pricing.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or another related business field; this is an Entry-Level role.
• Experience: 0-2 years of experience in Accounting and tax.
• Skills: Proficient in accounting services for farming operations (depreciation, payroll, bill pay, cash and accrual statements), customer service, time management, and knowledge of accounting rules.
• Bonus: May work toward CPA Certification or other applicable certifications.
