The Tone:
This is a retail sales lead role at Famous Footwear, located in one of its numerous store locations. Famous Footwear provides athletic, fashion, and casual shoes for the whole family from hundreds of name brands. This role is crucial for delivering an exceptional in-store experience, fostering customer loyalty, and driving sales by inspiring both customers and the store team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about shoes and dedicated to creating a welcoming and engaging environment for everyone.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Inspire Team Culture: Lead by example, fostering a positive environment through integrity, camaraderie, and coaching on selling behaviors for customer connection.
• Drive Sales Performance: Take accountability for achieving sales goals and contribute to Famous Footwear’s overall performance with purpose and determination.
• Manage Store Operations: Oversee daily retail operations including pricing, inventory, cleanliness, organization, and efficient opening and closing procedures.
• Champion Customer Experience: Deliver consistently top-notch customer service by connecting with customers, understanding their needs, and recommending the perfect styles and fit.
• Ensure Compliance & Support: Adhere to company policies and utilize available resources, while promoting a diverse and inclusive team environment where every associate feels valued.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma/GED; proficient working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Experience: Some retail store management experience or relevant management experience; previous experience on a team and motivating others to accomplish a goal.
• Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate direction; demonstrated ability to mentor and train associates on selling and operational processes; basic computer skills; ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
