Job Title: Fall Sales Intern

Location: Dallas–Fort Worth Metro Area (In-Person)

Timeframe: The internship runs for approximately 9 weeks during the fall semester, specifically from September 15th – December 15th OR October 1st – December 15th.

Role Summary: This position is for a Fall Sales Intern eager to gain comprehensive knowledge of media sales, prospecting, and community engagement. The intern will play a direct role in contributing to the organization’s revenue growth. The role is structured to offer a blend of training, practical field experience, and hands-on sales outreach.

Key Responsibilities (What You’ll Do):

Prospecting: Research and identify potential local advertising clients using diverse sources such as local publications, billboards, online listings, and dormant leads.
Client Outreach: Contact prospective clients via phone, email, and social media to schedule discovery calls for the Account Executives.
CRM Management: Accurately log all activity, track progress, and maintain detailed records within the CRM system.
Shadowing & Learning: Observe sales team members during client meetings, community events, and internal planning sessions to understand various aspects of the sales process and organizational operations.
Product & Process Acumen: Learn about Community Impact’s various advertising products, the established sales process, and its community-driven business approach.
Revenue Contribution: Directly contribute to measurable revenue growth by generating qualified leads and scheduling appointments for the sales team.

Comprehensive Media Sales: Gain exposure to the entire media sales process, from the initial stages of prospecting all the way through to closing deals.
Outreach Strategies: Develop effective cold calling and email outreach techniques.
Sales Technology: Learn to utilize CRM tools, understand lead management principles, and interpret sales reporting data.
Community Networking: Experience community networking through participation in chamber events and engagement with local partnerships.
Media Operations: Understand the inner workings of a fast-paced media organization.

Qualifications (What We’re Looking For):

Communication Skills: Strong communication abilities, with comfort in speaking to business owners.
Organizational Skills: Highly organized and self-motivated, demonstrating strong attention to detail.
Learning Agility: Eagerness to learn and a capacity to quickly apply new skills.
Work Ethic: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented work environment.
Technical Familiarity: Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
Academic Background (Preferred): Prior coursework in Sales, Marketing, Communications, or Business is preferred but not strictly required.

Compensation & Hours:

Hourly Wage: $12 per hour.
Work Week: 40 hours per week.
Performance Incentives: Opportunity for bonus and commission based on individual performance.
