They buy, sell, and process nonferrous metals and electronics scrap worldwide, utilizing established partnerships with end consumers in the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. The company has been in operation since 1996 and specializes in providing smelter-ready materials.
Job Description
Interco is seeking a Fall Logistics Intern to assist the Logistics department with booking domestic inbound freight. The intern will be responsible for entering data into the company’s TMS (Transportation Management System) and taking direction from senior logistics team members.
Responsibilities include:
• Schedule appointments with clients and carriers
• Coordinate schedules on facility calendars
• Ensure carrier information is up to date
• Add new carriers as needed
• Manage data in the transportation management system (TMS)
• Monitor and follow up on loads matching expected ETAs, BOLs, and packing lists
• Perform other related duties as assigned, supporting the broader logistics team
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in logistics is a plus
• Proficient in relevant software and tools (MS Office) with a willingness to learn new systems as needed
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing situations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or related field or equivalent experience is preferred
Additional Information:
• Pay rate: $15 / hour
• Operating hours: Monday-Friday from 8:00AM-5:00PM.
• This position does not offer healthcare benefits.
• This position is open to local students only.
