The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Wells Fargo, located in either New York, New York, or Charlotte, North Carolina. Wells Fargo’s Corporate & Investment Bank delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets, and advisory solutions to corporate, government, and institutional clients, focusing on their overall financial needs. This Executive Director level position is integral to the growing Project & Asset Finance business within the Energy & Power group, playing a crucial role in originating, structuring, and executing significant energy infrastructure transactions. The individual will contribute to strengthening Wells Fargo’s market-leading franchise in the sector by securing left lead mandates and providing tailored financial solutions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Relationship Management: Lead all aspects of client interaction, gaining visibility into objectives, identifying opportunities, providing advice, and recommending tailored financing solutions.
• Mandate Acquisition: Position the bank to secure left lead mandates for complex syndicated project finance transactions, playing a leadership and active structuring role.
• Transaction Execution Leadership: Guide and oversee execution teams for pitching, structuring, and executing project financing transactions in coordination with Credit Risk Management.
• Distribution Strategy Coordination: Work with Debt Capital Markets teams to coordinate execution and distribution strategies for successful placement of financings.
• Cross-Product Collaboration: Coordinate interaction with various product partners within the bank, including Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Rates, FX, and Treasury Management.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An Executive Director level professional required, demonstrating 7+ years of structured finance experience, or an equivalent combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education. This role requires core domain knowledge in complex financial structures within the Corporate & Investment Bank.
• Experience: 7+ years of experience in structured finance, with a strong preference for direct involvement in new deal execution specifically within thermal power, pipeline, LNG, or renewables project finance.
• Skills: Strong analytical abilities coupled with high attention to detail and accuracy, excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and proficiency in Excel, particularly with project finance financial modeling. A solid understanding of project finance credit agreements and structures is also essential.
• Bonus: Proven experience in creating and modifying project finance models, knowledge and understanding of corporate banking credits, cash flow analysis, and underwriting guidelines, alongside the ability to multitask effectively and manage time and priorities across several assignments.
