Event Marketing Intern | GMI Cloud
The Tone:
This is a part-time Event Marketing Internship at GMI Cloud, an AI infrastructure company based in Mountain View, CA. The successful intern will primarily support events across San Francisco and the South Bay. This pivotal role is designed to help foster and grow the AI community by actively supporting and executing impactful marketing events, contributing directly to GMI Cloud’s outreach and engagement efforts within the technology sector.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Partnership Development: Proactively identify potential event co-hosts and strategic partners within the AI community, working to secure collaborations that enhance event reach and impact.
• Logistics Coordination: Provide comprehensive support for event logistics, which includes meticulously handling venue bookings, coordinating catering services, and managing the efficient check-in process for all attendees.
• Technical Setup: Take responsibility for setting up and thoroughly testing all necessary event equipment, ensuring seamless technical operation during the event.
• On-site Execution: Offer direct and proactive support during the live event execution phase, assisting with a variety of on-site needs to guarantee a smooth and successful experience for all participants.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an entry-level internship opportunity, welcoming candidates from all academic majors. We are seeking individuals with a foundational interest in event coordination and marketing support, eager to contribute to connecting communities within the technology space.
• Experience: No specific prior experience is strictly required, though previous event planning or marketing experience is considered a plus. No particular software skills are mandated for this role.
• Skills: Demonstrated fluency in both English and Chinese is essential for this role. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with partners, attendees, and internal teams. Exhibit an outgoing, energetic, and genuinely people-focused personality, comfortable engaging with diverse groups. Maintain flexibility to support events across various locations in both San Francisco and the South Bay, including potential variable hours. An eager-to-learn and growth-oriented attitude, demonstrating proactive engagement with new tasks and challenges.
• Bonus: Previous event planning or marketing experience. An interest in the AI and technology industry.
