Equity Research Associate | Mizuho
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Mizuho, located in New York, NY, with a hybrid working program. Mizuho Americas focuses on corporate and investment banking, capital markets, and research in the US, Canada, and Latin America, including its recent acquisition of Greenhill for M&A advisory. This role is crucial for producing institutional-quality research within the Industrials team, supporting a senior leader and contributing directly to client impact in a critical sector.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Senior Analyst on all aspects of coverage, from idea generation to final publication.
• Modeling: Develop and continuously update complex financial models, valuation frameworks, and earnings estimates.
• Research: Perform primary and secondary research, including site visits, expert calls, and industry data analysis.
• Drafting: Draft research reports, flash notes, and marketing materials for institutional clients and internal sales teams.
• Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings, investor conferences, and roadshows to build market presence.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Engineering, with a focus on sell-side equity research in the Industrials sector.
• Experience: 1-3+ years of relevant sell-side equity research experience; strong preference for Industrials, Capital Goods, or related sectors.
• Skills: Advanced financial modeling, outstanding analytical abilities, strong writing, and presentation skills.
• Bonus: CFA charter or candidacy, proficiency in Bloomberg, FactSet or CapIQ, Claude and Co-Pilot experience.
