Equipment & Process Engineering Internship:

This internship position was previously known as the R&D Summer Co-op Program.

This is a paid, full-time, 12-week program (June – early September 2025), designed to provide students with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience in a field of interest within the Starbucks Partner and Customer Solutions team. The role will be based out of the Seattle Support Center in Seattle, WA.

Responsibilities:

Design and test portions of retail equipment development projects: This includes projects ranging from coffee to food.
Work closely with engineers from multiple disciplines: Develop the best technical design and testing approach.
Work in a lab environment conducting technical testing: Focus on evolving new equipment innovations.
Create innovative ideas for items in the retail environment: Improve upon existing items to make barista work more efficient.
Work with cross-functional teams to validate equipment and designs: This will take place in a retail environment.

Qualifications:

Strong interest in improving existing equipment, products, and tools.
Proficiency in using Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software.
Analytical and technical problem-solving skills, with the ability to design pragmatic solutions.
Coding experience (preferred, not required).
Strong interpersonal skills: Including excellent communication, collaboration, and the ability to work well with others.

Program Requirements:

Active enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
Ability to work full-time from June – early September 2025.
Eligibility to work in the United States.
