Maintenance Director | Taos Healthcare

The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person role at Taos Healthcare, located in Taos, NM. Taos Healthcare is dedicated to providing quality patient care within a facility that adheres to all environmental and safety standards. This role is crucial for ensuring the physical environment of the center is safe, sanitary, attractive, and fully operational, directly supporting the health and comfort of residents and staff while ensuring compliance with all regulations.

• Team: Leads Environmental Services personnel
• Mission: To ensure the healthcare center is maintained in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition, in good repair, free from hazards, and compliant with all Federal, State, and Local regulations, while also providing quality laundry service.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Supervision & Operations: Supervise all Environmental Services personnel and daily work, managing expense budgets, staffing, and resolving interdepartmental and personnel issues effectively.
• Preventive Maintenance Program: Execute the company’s preventive maintenance program and maintain comprehensive record-keeping systems to ensure the facility operates at its highest physical function.
• Documentation & History: Develop a complete center profile and physical plant history by maintaining thorough documentation of all maintenance activities, including accurate records of replacement parts, materials used, and fuel supply.
• Facility Repairs: Perform all routine maintenance and repair work throughout the center in strict accordance with Federal, State, and Local ordinances, regulations, and building codes.
• Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with residents, nurses, physicians, and department leaders on environmental services requests, infection prevention, and service resolution opportunities, providing timely follow-up and consulting with management on best practices.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Managerial experience in a commercial establishment, coupled with a High School diploma and foundational knowledge of laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance procedures.
• Experience: A minimum of one to two years of supervisory experience in a commercial setting, along with demonstrated HVAC experience and general maintenance work experience.
• Skills: Proficient in maintaining and repairing electrical, plumbing, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems; adept at executing preventive maintenance programs and managing associated record-keeping; strong understanding of Federal, State, and Local building codes and regulations.
• Bonus: Minimum of two years of work experience in long-term care and general healthcare experience is preferred.
