About the Job: Environmental Internship at GSI Environmental Inc.
GSI Environmental Inc. is seeking full-time interns to join our team in Missoula, MT for Summer 2026. This internship offers a unique opportunity to support both domestic and international environmental and engineering projects. Our work encompasses a broad range of activities, including litigation support and expert witness work, environmental investigation and remediation, risk assessments, permitting and compliance, and research and development (R&D).

Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for the intern position include, but are not limited to:
- Report directly to a Project Manager/Mentor and support engineers and geoscientists, working on environmental consulting projects, including investigation and site remediation, litigation support cases, and regulatory permits.
- Work on research projects to support ongoing projects or expand company services.
- Enter, check, and evaluate laboratory data for environmental samples and compile data summary tables.
- Participate in field trips to visit operational groundwater remediation systems, groundwater monitoring wells, and installation of soil borings and/or wells, if possible.
- Perform quality assurance checks of maps, tables, calculations, and reports.
- Complete basic engineering and statistical calculations.
- Attend project meetings with GSI staff and participate in technical discussions regarding tasks, schedules, etc.
- Present findings of research to co-workers at the end of the internship program.
Qualifications
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, geology, environmental science, chemistry, geophysics, or related.) (required)
- Ability to work full-time in the office for 8 to 12 weeks during the period of June 2026 through August 2026. (Start and end dates are flexible) (required)
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills and understanding of data quality control concepts. (required)
- Self-motivated to learn new software and new workflows with minimal guidance. (required)
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment to meet project needs. (required)
- Strong time-management skills and schedule flexibility to accommodate multiple project deadlines and deliverables. (required)
- Familiarity with environmental analytical data and knowledge of basic statistical analyses. (preferred)
