Description

Westwood Professional Services, Inc., is actively seeking an Environmental Intern to join our dedicated Environmental services team. Westwood boasts a highly experienced and dynamic team committed to delivering high-level professional services to our clients. This is an entry-level position designed to involve the intern in various assignments, fostering the development of abilities in specialized areas within environmental services.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

As an Environmental Intern, you will work as a member of the environmental team under the direction of the Environmental Service Leader, primarily supporting a variety of projects. Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting site investigations to gather data on potentially contaminated sites, including all phases of planning and ensuring proper documentation for all stages of the project. This involves:
    • Soil boring and monitoring well installation
    • Monitoring well development
    • Water and soil sampling
    • Vapor sampling
    • Sediment sampling
    • Analyzing and interpreting site data
    • Recommending remedial actions
  • Research and evaluation of data.
  • Conducting field reviews and other assessments.
  • Assisting with the creation and submission of technical reports, exhibits, and presentations.
  • Taking personal responsibility for the quality of tasks performed.
  • Performing routine analysis to check the accuracy of data and work products.
  • Ensuring division, regional, and company values, policies, and practices are consistently followed within the environmental service.
  • Leading by example – displaying solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.

  • Must have the ability and willingness to travel periodically to certain work sites in different climate conditions.

Required Experience:

  • Currently working toward completion of a bachelor’s degree in a natural resource-related field.
