Entry Level Staff Accountant | Career Group
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Career Group, located in San Francisco, CA. The client is a well-established organization with a stable and collaborative team. This role is crucial for supporting the fund accounting function and working closely with the family office and investment teams. It offers an excellent opportunity for a recent Accounting graduate to build a strong foundation in fund accounting, gain hands-on experience with investments and financial reporting, and grow within a supportive environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Coordinate: Oversee wires and bill payments to ensure timely and accurate execution.
• Monitor: Track cash accounts, including upcoming investments, capital calls, and distributions, while also monitoring portfolio company activity.
• Prepare: Generate monthly financials, quarterly reports, annual financial statements with footnotes, and partner capital statements.
• Assist: Support carried interest calculations, prepare capital call and distribution letters, and help with annual fair market value (FMV) valuations.
• Support: Facilitate investor communications, manage investor requests, and assist with audit processes and month-end/quarter-end close activities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Recent graduate with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with an interest in developing a long-term career in fund accounting and investment operations.
• Experience: Up to 1 year of post-graduation professional experience; candidates with limited professional experience are encouraged to apply.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy, highly organized with strong follow-through and time-management skills. Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn new systems and software, proficient in Microsoft Excel, and possessing strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: Exposure to QuickBooks is preferred.
