We are looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Entry-level Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team, ensuring our critical hangar and office environments consistently remain clean, safe, organized, and operate smoothly. This hands-on position requires someone who takes pride in doing the basics exceptionally well, possesses a natural mechanical inclination, and is eager to learn about the intricate world of business aviation operations.

The TL;DR

• Mission: Ensures the hangar and office environments are consistently clean, safe, organized, and smoothly operational, directly supporting PlaneSmart! Aviation’s business aviation activities.
• Tech Stack: Basic work order systems (including informal methods).

What You’ll Actually Do
• Execute General Facility Maintenance: Perform a range of light bulb changes, minor repairs, and basic troubleshooting tasks, alongside preventative checks across the entire facility, ensuring all operational aspects function efficiently and reliably.
• Maintain High Cleanliness and Safety Standards: Keep all hangar and office areas immaculate and presentable through daily janitorial tasks, efficient trash removal, thorough cleaning of restrooms, and diligent upkeep of break areas, consistently upholding high safety protocols.
• Manage and Organize Facility Supplies: Oversee the restocking and meticulous organization of all facility supplies, including paper products, cleaning essentials, and basic shop necessities. This also involves conducting local errands and supply runs as needed to maintain optimal stock levels and assist in storage area management.
• Coordinate and Support External Vendors: Act as a support role in vendor management by submitting and tracking work orders for third-party services (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roll-up doors), escorting vendors on-site, clearly communicating job needs, and reporting on completion status.
• Provide Light Operations and Event Support: Coordinate effectively with internal line service and hangar teams regarding work area access, timing, and readiness. Additionally, provide assistance with simple setup tasks for meetings, small events, and accommodate visiting guests as required.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An early career individual with a demonstrable mechanical inclination, who is highly dependable and possesses a genuine eagerness to learn and develop new skills within a hands-on operational environment.
• Experience: Some prior hands-on experience is beneficial, specifically in areas such as facilities management, general maintenance, warehouse operations, construction, an auto shop setting, or other practical work.
• Skills: Exhibits a strong work ethic and exceptional attention to detail, particularly concerning cleanliness and safety. Must be comfortable following detailed checklists, documenting completed tasks with basic notes or photos, and holds a valid driver’s license for local errands.
• Bonus: Practical experience with basic hand and power tools, familiarity with formal or informal work order systems, and a genuine interest in aviation, airport operations, or working in proximity to aircraft.
