Job Summary: Entry-Level Electrical Construction Helper

Miller Electric is seeking an Entry-level Electrical Construction Helper with 0-2 years of hands-on experience in the electrical trade. The ideal candidate will be motivated, safety-conscious, and eager to further develop their technical skills under the guidance and supervision of experienced journey-level electricians.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Benefits may vary due to local union agreements.

• Assist Journeyman electricians with the repair, maintenance, installation, and modernization of electrical systems for various buildings, equipment, and grounds.
• Perform tasks such as pulling wire, bending conduit, and installing devices, panels, and fixtures.
• Willingness to learn how to read and interpret basic electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.
• Strictly follow OSHA and company safety procedures at all times.
• Support team members by providing accurate measurements, cutting materials, and preparing equipment as needed.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Perform other duties as may be required.
• Perform manual labor as required, which may include:
  • Manual excavation
  • Bending pipe
  • Pulling wire
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Working with hands overhead
  • Using heavy equipment
  • Using power tools

Qualifications

• Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in electrical construction.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn new skills.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (e.g., lifting, climbing, standing for long periods).
• Commitment to safety and strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain OSHA 10 certification.
• Experience working on commercial projects.
