What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations: Coordinate and manage daily dispatch operations for a fleet of trucks.
• Scheduling: Develop and optimize driver schedules to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
• Communication: Maintain constant and clear communication with drivers, providing updates and resolving on-the-road issues.
• Monitoring: Monitor active routes and shipments in real-time, proactively addressing potential delays or challenges.
• Issue Resolution: Effectively resolve delivery-related issues or discrepancies as they arise, minimizing disruptions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent. Career level: Early Career. Understanding of logistics, supply chain management, or transportation principles.
• Experience: Competence in using dispatch software and basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proven problem-solving acumen.
• Bonus: Familiarity with transportation industry regulations, logistics best practices, geographical knowledge of major routes, or further education/certifications in logistics or transportation.
