Role Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual for a full-time, on-site Entry Level Dispatcher position in Norwalk, CA. This pivotal role involves coordinating the daily operational flow, meticulously managing driver schedules, and maintaining proactive and effective communication with our drivers to guarantee the timely delivery of goods.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and managing daily dispatch operations for a fleet of trucks.
  • Developing and optimizing driver schedules to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Maintaining constant and clear communication with drivers, providing updates and resolving on-the-road issues.
  • Monitoring active routes and shipments in real-time, proactively addressing potential delays or challenges.
  • Responding promptly and professionally to client inquiries, providing accurate shipment status updates.
  • Effectively resolving delivery-related issues or discrepancies as they arise, minimizing disruptions.
  • Maintaining comprehensive and accurate records of all shipments, deliveries, and dispatch activities.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following skills and attributes:

  • Strong Organizational Skills: Exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain a structured workflow in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with drivers, clients, and internal teams.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competence in using dispatch software and various basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) for record-keeping and communication.
  • Problem-Solving Acumen: Demonstrated ability to analyze situations quickly, identify core issues, and implement effective solutions under pressure.
  • Industry Knowledge (Plus): Familiarity with transportation industry regulations, logistics best practices, and geographical knowledge of major routes is considered a significant advantage.
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Further education or certifications in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation will be highly beneficial.
