Job Description

Job Title: Entry Level- Architectural / Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering (Buildings Group)

Locations: Lenexa, KS or Broomfield, CO

Overview: GBA’s Buildings Group is seeking entry-level engineers to join their team, which primarily serves two markets: Life Sciences and Mission Critical. Candidates can express interest in one, two, or several opportunities, and the recruitment team will help determine the best fit.

Primary Markets:

Life Sciences: This group focuses on designing mechanical and electrical systems within the bio-pharma industry, serving many of the world’s top bio-pharma companies. It operates as a collaborative team of engineers and architects.
Mission Critical: This team specializes in working with top Information Technology companies, designing mechanical and electrical systems for data centers, telecommunications, and industrial facilities.

Team Structure: Both groups offer the opportunity to work within an integrated team comprising architects, engineers, commissioning specialists, project managers, and construction managers.

Responsibilities:

Mechanical Engineers:
• Design various mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, steam, hot water, and compressed air.
• Prepare construction documents for these mechanical systems.
• Review shop drawings and Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Verify permitting and code requirements.
• Assist with facility evaluations and engineering studies.
• Assist with troubleshooting and commissioning.
Electrical Engineers:
• Design electrical power systems, including switchboards, generators, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS’s), and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS’s) for data center and telecommunications facilities.
• Conduct facility evaluations, engineering studies, and troubleshooting.
• Perform Arc Flash, coordination, and short circuit studies.
• Design interior and exterior lighting.
• Assist with commissioning.
Architectural Engineers: Valued in either the Life Sciences or Mission Critical group; individual interests will be determined through conversation during the interview process.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) in Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or another related field from an accredited program.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Excel software is preferred.
• A GPA of 2.7 or higher is strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related experience is a plus.
• Involvement in campus, community, and other volunteer activities and/or organizations.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Pay Range: $24.00 – $26.50 per hour, depending on experience.
